MEF Band Camp High School Leadership Team Application

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of the MEF Band Camp 2024 High School Leadership Team (HSLT). This position is available to 15 outstanding high school juniors and seniors (Fall 2024) and/or graduating high school seniors (Spring 2024). Total camp tuition is only $150 for the High School Leadership Team. HSLT members will receive hands-on leadership training throughout the camp week and will participate in all camp activities. Applications are accepted until positions are filled. Early registration is recommended.

Monday, June 10: MEF Band Camp set up by HSLT and camp staff. Specific time will be determined at a later date.

MEF Band Camp - June 11-15, 2024 (Note: Tuesday-Saturday)

MEF Band Camp, June 11-14, 2024 will be held at McClintock High on TUESDAY through FRIDAY, June 11-14, and at the Tempe Center for the Arts on SATURDAY, June 15.

TUESDAY-FRIDAY HSLT hours at McClintock High School are 7:30am-3:30pm. HSLT members selected by audition for the optional High School Honor Chamber Ensembles will extend their camp day until 4:30pm.

SATURDAY dress rehearsal and camp concert hours at the Tempe Center for the Arts for HSLT will be 10am-8pm including set up and breakdown with camp staff/faculty/HSLT. Attendance at the SATURDAY, June 15, dress rehearsal and camp concert at the Tempe Center for the Arts is required for all HSLT members (as well as all other campers). Admission to the concert is free for all campers and audience members.

If the applicant is new to MEF Band Camp, they must also arrange to have the brief Instructor Recommendation Form submitted on their behalf. It can be filled out the student’s band director or private instructor. Returning campers do not need to provide an Instructor Recommendation form. HSLT applicants will be contacted by MEF staff to confirm acceptance, generally within 2 weeks of applying.

Ensemble placement audition music/recording submission instructions will be emailed to the HSLT member’s and parent’s email provided on the application by May 7, 2024. Ensemble placement audition submission deadline is May 28, 2024.

Camp permission forms will be available through Jotform in May, 2024. Links will be sent to the HSLT member’s email and parent’s email provided on the application.

There are NO REFUNDS available for deposits or tuition paid.
